If you happen to find yourself in the sunny South of France , here is a culinary treasure you must discover: 1. La Tonnelle by Pascale and Gil Renard Picture this: it's not just a restaurant; it's a delightful blend of a restaurant and a toy store! Nestled in Bormes les Mimosas, this place is full of surprises. While the menu may appear traditional, don't be fooled. The chef takes you on a personal culinary journey, visiting each table to craft tailored suggestions. Every ingredient is fresh, straight from the local market. But let's talk about the starters they steal the spotlight. Forget the conventional names; they're just the beginning. I savored a unique gazpacho made from local veg...

This restaurant doesn't have the kerb appeal of some in Bormes les Mimosas although it is very centrally located, but we were so pleased we chose to dine here. We had read that the restaurant offered locally sourced seasonal food and that the service was friendly. We agree that the food was very delicious. Dishes were light, prettily dressed and very tasty. We received great service which was friendly and knowledgeable. My friends and I had two courses each, a main and a dessert. Very good value for money and a really lovely dining experience.

Reception could have been a little more friendly. Small menu of 7 starters, 7 main courses and a similar number of desserts which was encouraging. Starter of artichoke was sublime as was main course of kidneys. Water and a couple of glasses of wine brought a bill of €117. You could easily spend €200 here for lunch and I suggest you don’t! All in all for a Sunday lunch it was pleasant enough.

In the afternoon, the smell of the restaurant's kitchen continued. We haven't been disappointed. a small card, but with products worked and quality. bitter with excellent vegetables (aioli is in the soft state so low, but it is the choice of cook.) excellent as well. very good memory, we finally regret not having taken an entry to discover the work as well.
