I wish I could give this place fewer than one star. While traveling from Alabama to Fort Worth, we stopped at the Pearl location craving hot tamales. We had seen positive reviews, and both the Yelp page and the restaurant's website stated it was open until 8 PM. However, when we arrived, the place was empty. The sign claimed it was open, but there was no response at the listed phone number. What's going on, Tony?
Having grown up in Texas, I know the true flavor of homemade tamales, and TONY'S TAMALES are simply the best! They've even been awarded the title of Best Tamales in Mississippi! There's nothing that enhances the taste of a tamale more than the corn husks they're wrapped in. Additionally, TONY'S offers some fantastic extras like red beans and rice, delicious chili, and gumbo!
The BEST tamales I've ever had! Normally, I prefer adding shredded cheese or cheese sauce to my tamales, but these are so incredible on their own that I didn't miss it at all! We also ordered the red beans and rice, which were delicious! Make sure to stop by and try them; you won't regret it! We'll definitely be returning soon for more fantastic food!
I was really let down! I expected to enjoy restaurant-quality tamales, but instead, I found that I could have easily picked up the same ones from the frozen food section of any grocery store for half the price. I don’t get all the rave reviews. Just head to Walmart, grab a pack for $4 or $5, and warm them up yourself! Book a table now

Tony's Tamales is a fantastic spot! I absolutely love the chili tamale dinner. The gumbo is the best I've had in ages, and I also really enjoy the red beans and rice. I will definitely be returning to explore more of their menu.
What a letdown! I expected to enjoy fresh tamales, but I ended up paying $9 for hot tamales that I can find in the frozen food aisle at any grocery store for just $4. It feels like a total ripoff. I won’t be returning.
