In case anyone thought that things have changed here since Samantha G did her review back in April this year - think again. We had exactly the same type of wine experience: ordered a Pinot Gris and a red; bottles brought to the table and the red opened before we realised that it was a St Hallets and not the Tatachilla we'd ordered- no prior warning at all. We looked at the white - this time before it was opened: a cheap $10 NZ Pinot Gris and not what we'd ordered; when we said we didn't want it, the owner came over to tell us it was the same. No attempts to explain the obvious - that it wasn't at all the same -were successful: the repeated response was that it was the same price. This meant...

Beautiful girls were trying hard to make it a nice experience but when you come to eat it's all about the food. The menu is small, which should be a good thing if each dish is cooked with care and arrives quickly. There was one special- the fish of the day which was battered Basa. Seriously? When was Basa owned up to on a restaurant menu, when was it caught in Queensland?!!Between us we had Goulash, Kebabs and Lamb Pilaf.(probably the best option) They were all extremely oversalted, which I could have forgiven if they weren't stone cold. Goulash is served in individual cast iron pots. These can easily be kept piping hot in the oven and with only 4 menu options you are bound to sell them. No,...
I typically only write reviews when I am very pleased with my experience, but this time I was quite disappointed. We visited this restaurant last night before heading to the theatre. The location is lovely, near the parklands, theatres, convention centre, and parking. The venue itself looks nice and was comfortable. We were told that all entrees would be $10 for the evening, but this included the bread and butter, which was listed on the menu for $6. We shared a trio of dips and bread. The dips were tasty, but the bread was too hard. My main dish was the goulash, which came in a very small portion and the mash was watery. At $28, it seemed quite pricey. My wife had the beef cheeks, which had...
I chose this for the curtained booths, as three people in my party have poor hearing, and it was just as quiet and private as I'd hoped. We enjoyed the food, sharing 5 entrees, 3 mains and 2 desserts between five people. The mains look a little small, but are rich and filling. We chose from the cheaper end of the wine list and enjoyed our drinks. Service was friendly, competent and quite informal. Book a table now
This was our second visit here. The concept of mixed Eastern European food is good and our meals ( beef cheek, dumplings, lamb pilaf) were flavoursome. The service was very ho- hum. The place was almost empty but the cocktail took so long to arrive it came just before the meal. The staff could not answer questions about the wine and overall it felt somewhat overpriced.
It's always good when you walk into a restaurant at an odd time, and they'll still serve you with a smile! We visited Torba at about 2.30pm, and they were very happy to look after us. $10 plates, just perfect to share. Beautiful regional wines and porters to compliment their meals. Thank you, Torba, we'll be back :)
I was really looking forward to trying this place. Ordered delivery which took longer than estimated and the food arrived almost cold. I was shocked by how small the portions were, this place is EXTREMELY overpriced. Taste was OK, but truly nothing special. Very disappointed.
The Eastern European cuisine at this restaurant was delectable, the service was top-notch, and the violinist was truly remarkable. The location is ideal for those looking to explore Parklands or for attendees of events at the Conference Centre. Book a table now
I really enjoyed the Hungarian goulash and beef cheeks at this restaurant. The mashed potatoes that came with the goulash were disappointing, though, as they were too runny. The electric violin entertainer was fantastic.
My spouse and i spontaneously decided to eat there on a Saturday night. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, waiter service was attentive, ambience was pleasant and the live violinist was a plus. A bit overpriced perhaps

"The pasta at this restaurant is fantastic, the service is good, but the prices are a bit on the higher side. The gnocchi was particularly delicious, but there are other more satisfying options available for the same price."

"The food was tasty. But everyone at our table immediately felt very ill. Almost instantly. The salmon was also a little to raw. The meat was quite a fatty cut"
