During our stay at Bay Colwell Lodge to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary, we had originally made dinner reservations at another restaurant. However, due to a fire, we had to come up with a Plan B. We ended up getting Fish and Chips at the lodge, but were disappointed with the quality of the food. The cheesy chips had barely any cheese, and the kebab was cold by the time we got back to the lodge, which was less than a mile away. The restaurant itself was dark, dingy, and in need of some serious maintenance. The service was also terrible, with the staff seeming disinterested and unprofessional. After paying for our meal, we were informed that we would have to wait an additional 25 minutes...
While on vacation on the island, we decided to try Totties fish and chips since Rainbows was closed. Unfortunately, it was the worst fish we've ever had. Every bite was filled with large bones, not just the small ones you would typically find in fish. The fish was greasy and stuck to the paper, especially in the soggy parts. The curry sauce was thick, cold, and lumpy, resembling vomit. I gave this place 1 star because I couldn't rate it any lower. It was a total waste of money. Avoid this place at all costs!
