Tournesol is a French bistro located in LIC. It's hard to put into words how amazing our experience was tonight. The waiter greeted us warmly and we felt taken care of from the moment we walked in. The bar is well-stocked with a small but impressive cocktail menu featuring classic French drinks at a good price. The menu may not be extensive, but it captures the essence of French cuisine with both standard dishes and daily specials that are drool-worthy. This French bistro in the neighborhood is a gem. The restaurant may be small, but it has a charming ambiance and a friendly staff. The food is delicious, with a menu that includes all the classic French dishes. The goat cheese beet frisée salad is a must-try, and even the French onion soup won me over, despite not typically being a fan. The fries are perfectly cooked, and the coq au vin was prepared beautifully, with tender chicken. The cocktails, like the dirty martini and espresso martini, were excellent. The restaurant only accepts American Express, which may be uncommon and frustrating for some, but it is a truly unique and delightful establishment. It is a charming French café that serves generous cups of coffee and delicious Quiche Lorraine. If you do not have an American Express card, there is an ATM conveniently located next door.
Small and cozy very Parisian style restaurant with th great food. Highly recommend everyone to check it out. Its a family restaurant and you can tell that by their service! I will definitely come back again. We tried goat cheese salad, skate and steak. They were all great.
