Very cool little bar. Lot of wood work and cool tin ceiling. Dark with alcove tables/booths. Pizza was super good. Service was good, with one exception. We ordered a veggie pizza and they got something turned around or entered wrong, because what got made was like an everything pizza. They were very upfront letting us know before they brought it out, and offered to remake the pizza. Luckily we are not vegetarian so we ate the pizza and it was really really good. Also check out the apartment/old time hotel lobby connected to the bar, super cool, if you like seeing old Detroit buildings.

Amazing place. Always a good time. You literally feel like you're stepping back on time. Gets. Pretty packed when any event is going on in downtown or midtown but that's a lot of fun too. Great staff. Can't say enough about them. The food is awesome, especially their pizza. Cool place to hang before or after the game, concert, a trip to the theater, etc. Right close to all the stadiums, the Fox, the Fillmore, Hokeytown, and the Detroit opera house. Stop in you won't be disappointed.
Great place for a burger and beer!! It was originally my third choice for preconcert grub but was I pleasantly suprised! It's right in the heart of Detroit's sports and theatre district, walking distance to Little Cesaer's Arena, across the street from Comerica Park, and half a block from the Fox and the Fillmore theatres. Beers are cold and fast and food and service were great.
We settled at the bar for drinks for about an hour before a show. The bartenders seemed visibly annoyed by our requests, yet they readily attended to male customers. We had to go out of our way to get someone's attention. Additionally, the bathroom was appallingly dirty, with used paper towels covering the sink area and floor. We won’t be returning. I went with a few friends after a baseball game and had a wonderful experience. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the building itself is stunning, both inside and out. While more seating would be nice, the space is a bit limited, so it’s understandable. Overall, it’s an excellent spot to grab a drink before or after a game.
On a lovely warm Sunday afternoon in Detroit (specifically September 18), with the Lions playing and the Tigers just finishing up, the city is alive with activity as people gather for Chris Rock at the Fox Theatre. Meanwhile, the Town Pump is closed, missing out on potential customers. Good luck with that.
What an amazing atmosphere! This feels like the bar your father or grandfather went to. Nostalgia abounds. Beautiful woodwork throughout... But let's talk about the service. The staff here is very friendly and attentive. They serve a wonderful list of beers and spirits; but the food? Very nice top notch!
Fantastic pub in Detroit! This hidden gem behind the Fox Theatre is a wonderful place to eat and drink. Their happy hour is excellent, featuring great deals on beer, pizza, and sandwiches. If you're looking for the best pub food in the city, this is definitely a must-try! Book a table now
The service was excellent, the drink selection was impressive, and the food far surpassed any typical bar fare in both quality and variety. I will definitely keep coming here before Lions and Tigers games, as well as concerts.
