Bizarre dining experience. Decided to splurge after seeing a pasta dish come out with a full lobster at the table to my left, looked great. Server placed a completely different dish in front of me (no full lobster and explained that they accidentally made the wrong lobster dish. When I didn 't look pleased she said it was similar with a different sauce. I asked what the price difference was given that what I ordered was 40 bucks (didn 't want to pay the same for a dish I didn 't order. She responded it 's the same price and waited a few seconds while I stared awkwardly at her. She then offered to bring the right dish. She came back a minute later with what looked like the same dish on a diff...
This was my second dining experience at Monica’s. The first was great. This started off the same but ended sour. We showed up an hour early for our reservation just to see if they had any tables available earlier since their online reservation system said they did. I understand this isn’t always accurate though last minute and made it clear it really wasn’t an issue if we had to wait for our original time. The host was accommodating which we greatly appreciated. We had the scallop w/ lemon and caper appetizer which was delicious! Pasta dishes were good as well. The issue occurred at the end of the experience. The restaurant staff were so busy and our server had not come by our table to offer...
After sitting at a the smallest table in tables history for 30 min for nothing and being ignored by everyone I find out that full service is not really full service. You have to order at the bar and then you’ll get your food. Food wise, it’s ok not worth 70$ .
I am here before the rebuild. the quality and the portions are slightly downgraded, but it is still my favorite place in the north. I never had a problem waiting for a table or food. service is always excellent here. the muscles are my favourite menu here.
