Treebeards - Table reservation

Treebeards was excellent. I had never even heard of the place before but my wife insisted that we go as she used to love the food at the downtown location. Gave it a go and let me just say, I won't be tiring my arm out making a roux for my chicken and sausage gumbo again when I can go and order a plate there. I tried her red beans and rice as well and it was amazing. There sauces were great and we got the fried deviled eggs and man how I wish I could have eaten more. On top of that, the service was good. Food was very bland. Excellent customer service and restaurant was very clean. Only food that was good was the mash potatoes. Fried chicken lacked seasoning so the gravy was needed, collards had no flavor at all, red beans and rice were bland, jalapeno bread dry.

The place has a varied menu, and the food takes very little time to be ready. On my visit I tried the seafood gumbo and jambalaya. Good infrastructure and location.

The food was very good. The server was ok. He was not extremely attentive. I enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and the view.

Food is always good. I wish the bread was crusty. Years ago it was. Been eating at this restaurant since May 1980.
