As hotel residents we took a table at 9pm, but sat with a beer in the 90 mins prior on the terrace, which is pretty, reading our books to kill time. 9pm came and we were seated, and a bit confused why people arriving after us were immediately furnished with menus... Spanish time is late for us to eat and we were hungry! After 10 minutes we managed to secure menus. The wine and starter arrived in good time and both were of good quality, very nice. Our plates were taken and we waited. After an hour, a waiter came to say there had been a mix up in the kitchen, they have not made our food, but they will make it now. He offered us some bread to tide us over. By this time, I was significantly less...
I have read some less than enthusiastic reviews of Restaurant Drac but all quite old. We ate in the restaurant on both nights of our April 2019 visit to Castell d'Emporda and enjoyed a wonderful dinner on both nights. The restaurant itself is very atmospheric with original stone walls, open fire and well-spaced out tables which I like. It was hard to choose what to eat as everything sounded enticing but special mention has to be made of the octopus starter, the chicken and the absolutely gorgeous coffee crumble pudding. Very reasonably priced wines too. Excellent young chef and lovely waiting staff. Well done everyone!
Siamo venuti a cena in questo ristorante in quanto ospiti dell’hotel Castell D’emporda. Il ristorante è davvero ottimo seppur con poca scelta di piatti, le presentazioni sono davvero curate e gli abbinamenti dei piatti eccellenti! Noi abbiamo provato il filete de ternera zcotto a bassa temperatura e la crema catalana entrambi davvero buoni! L’ambiente e’ raffinato ed elegante e giustifica i prezzi elevati della cena
We had been around many times and one day we decided that we would like to have dinner there, just for the sake of visiting El Castell d'Empordà. The greatest surprise has been that the food has been as good as the views. The menu is balanced, cooked with love and served with a smile! Not much can be asked in a summer night!

Delicious food and fantastic service from Iguanico who gave his wine recommendations from our food choices. The wines were great, the food and atmosphere were great too. This is our second time here in 13 months, we will make the trip from the UK to visit here again!
Being a very fussy eater I went here with my partner not expecting to like much. Turns out to be one of the greatest meals I've ever had. Everything was amazing and had me eating things I've historically never like. The cost was great too. Definitely recommend.
We ate here twice in as many days. We found both the food and the service to be first class. The 3 course menu at 35 euros a head we thought was very good value. Recommended
the food was amazing. I highly recommend the chicken dish with the different types of chicken. I could eat that dish every day at the hotel.
