It was a pretty long road trip through southern Spain, obviously a beautiful experience, but we were looking forward to stopping in Ronda for some local cuisine. After looking up guides and online searches, Tropicana seemed to be the place to go. Three of us went in with no expectations, and three of us went out thoroughly impressed! It was funny, the chef/owner waited on us, us being ignorant to the fact. We asked him what he'd recommend to which enthusiastically responded to get the ox tail. Cannot believe I 'm the first Yelper to review this find. Yes it is a little off the beaten track but I enjoyed the walk from the Parador. Hands down this was the best service from any restaurant at which I have eaten in Spain. The place is like a cool open air respite from the tourist laden Ronda Streets. The food was delicious in every category. But I have single out the Pickled Quail Salad . Never heard of pickled quail but had to try it. Was not disappointed. There must have been the meat of half a covey of those little Bobwhite in that salad. The meat did not have a strong pickled flavor but silky smooth and the salad nice and tart. Mi descubrimiento favorito en Ronda. Si tuviera que elegir una sola comida de toda mi vista a Málaga, sin duda me quedaría con la experiencia que viví en este restaurante en Ronda. Llegué sin reserva, algo arriesgado en Ronda, pero la gestión fue impecable. A pesar de estar concurridos, me atendieron muy amablemente y buscaron la forma de acomodarme rápidamente. El plato que lo cambió todo El Galete de Atún Rojo a baja temperatura es de otro planeta. El punto de cocción a baja temperatura hace que el atún se deshaga en la boca, manteniendo toda su jugosidad y el sabor intenso.

Estuve de visita hoy con un grupo de 12 en total. Este negocio es familiar y todos hicieron de nuestra visita una experiencia maravillosa. El menú esta actualizado y tiene elementos de influencia asiática. De entrada Gyoza de verdura y taquito de pulpo al ajillo. De principal huevos rotos con patatas, aguacate y tartare de atún ¡delicioso! Tenía 3 tartas caseras y las probamos todas. Mi favorita la de zanahoria. A la hora de apertura estaba completo el cupo por el resto del día así de bueno es. Hay que reservar!!!
