Such a real shame, this place used to be amazing and we loved going! Unfortunately after visiting recently for my partners birthday we had a terrible experience, awful service, food OK but not like it used to be (might have just been OK due to how long we had to wait and how hungry we all were) we arrived and we’re placed in the conservatory type room, it was EXTREMELY loud you couldn’t hear yourself think! With two elderly people in the family it was difficult for them and none of us were able to talk to each other therefore I asked the waitress if there was a possibility if we could move as the noise was just too much! Very slow service an hour and 20 mins from table booking time to receive the main course . Chips wedges cold meat dry and over cooked burnt edges . Waiting staff not particularly pro active not offered any more drinks after the first drink and didn’t clear the table of the empty glasses had to ask for the main course plates etc to be cleared from the table . Staff did bring birthday cake as planned but had to ask for plates and a knife !! Overall most disappointing especially as we were celebrating a 30th birthday 13 in total. Felt sorry for the person who had taken the time to organise and plan this for a special occasion definitely not Fine Dining as advertised !!
I was extremely disappointed with my experience at this restaurant! I had made a reservation for a party of 11 to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday. The food was average at best and served cold. When my daughter mentioned that her burger tasted off, I tried it myself and discovered that the minced beef was clearly spoiled and had a disgusting smell. The service was also subpar, as the birthday cake was just placed haphazardly on our dirty table by a member of staff who then walked away without a word. I will definitely not be coming back here and am very displeased with the overall experience.
We booked a table here knowing we had a 90 minute window. Food was ordered within 15 minutes but we had to wait 45 minutes for it to arrive despite the restaurant being less than half full. When it did arrive, the food was very good with generous portions. I ordered the char grilled tuna in a red Thai curry sauce. Whilst the tuna was lovely it was overpowered by the sauce! We will visit again but we'll make sure we have plenty of time. Book a table now
Service slow waited about 10 minutes for my glass of wine saw it sat on the bar others in the party had been served their drinks. The sharing platter was good, however my main of belly pork which was fine, the mashed potatoes where cold and the roasted parsnips were cold supposed to have been roasted ? looked like they had just been blow torched plenty of empty tables so not overly busy
My family and I walked into the restaurant on Tuesday evening and were greeted by a young girl and the amazing smell of food. We had a table for 6 guests and despite the restaurant filling up quickly (it was 7:30 pm on a Tuesday), we received our food and service promptly and professionally. We highly recommend this restaurant!
This is a poor restaurant with poor customer service. table cancelled after arrival for 10 people for a 40th birthday with no apology or nothing staff was rude. People stay clear very disrespectful and disappointing
This restaurant is a beautiful, peaceful, and roomy spot with incredible food and excellent staff. The homemade meat pie was delicious and packed with meat. They also offer a great variety of beers and ales. Book a table now
Never again worst experience ever! noisy pub serving below average food at elevated prices! Do not take candor very well extremely defensive and augmentative! I would never step foot in this place again!
