The food here is fantastic, and our servers are always wonderful! A special shoutout to Brian and the kitchen staff who make us feel special during our visits (I apologize for not catching your name). We enjoyed the Korean burgers, sun burgers, salad, truffle burgers, and truffle fries. (I hope I got that right > <). I took away one star because the truffle fries just aren't what they used to be. They used to be delicious shoestring fries packed with rich truffle flavor, topped with white cheese and a bit of sauce. I really wish they would bring those back, as it would make this place perfect for us. We haven't visited in a while because of missing those fries, and we haven't been coming as...
Umami is back! I recently tried the Bacon Ranch Burger, and it was fantastic. The bacon was also mixed into the patty, which added a great flavor. It seems Alvin has upgraded the buns, as they were much better—soft, simple rolls that soaked up the juices and sauces perfectly. It made for a wonderful experience with each bite. The location was surprisingly slow for a Thursday at Spectrum, but I didn't mind that since the service was excellent. I think the portion size of the Fritten has increased slightly—not by much, but enough to notice.
My son suggested this restaurant because he knows I love a good burger joint, and he was spot on. We both ordered the Black Garlic Burger, which was generously stuffed with three types of cheese and topped with Parmesan on the outside. We also tried the garlic fries, as well as sweet potato fries and another variety. Our server, Adrian, offered some excellent recommendations. They also serve an amazing Bloody Mary here. The service was quick and friendly, and there was plenty of room for everyone.
The new chef ruined the menu. The fried pickles which were unique to Umami Burger is gone, the one and only Jalapeño sauce which gave an amazing flavor to appetizers is out of menu. The truffle burger which was juicy and melting in your mouth is no longer like that. Not gonna get Umami again because the menu got messed up!!!! Was a regular customer. Bring back the old chef and menu!!!!!!
