Umami Restaurant And Sushi Bar

Food was good. Probably one of the best restaurants in the area offering high quality food like a5 wagyu and high grade ahi tuna. The only negative I have was searing of food. Such as with the tuna takaki, would prefer more of a seared crust on it. I understand it should be raw, but I've had some from other places that were able to do it while still being raw. The same with the wagyu... The rock doesn't get hot enough for you to really sear the fat like I would like. Still good, but was a bit of a downer. Prices are higher here......it 's pricey...I spent almost $100 on a carryout dinner for my fiance and I (2 people $90 , and it was a total bomb. My main complaint? Our rainbow roll had creamcheese in it......(Just....why? Really??? Dont mess with traditional classics.......That was weird and dissapointing (we didn 't finish it and gave it to the dog . Also, the Millenial roll which was loosely wrapped in rice paper was messy and stuck to itself....it was more like a hand roll that fell apart as you ate it. We did like the atkins roll, but overall we were dissapointed Between the higher end prices and quality of food....SO.... Not sure we will be back.

I always love this place. Today I finally had the Distinguished Gentleman roll and OMG! It was delicious! Also had the Uni!

A little pricey, but the food was very delicious. A little too dark for me.
