Union Social in Mississauga used to be one of my favorite spots. We went there often years ago and always had great experiences. Unfortunately, it seems like those days are long gone. The restaurant was filthy, with a strong smell of gas that made us uneasy from the start. When we brought it up to the waitress, she had no idea where the smell was coming from and didn’t seem concerned. The place was overrun with flies, and the service was painfully slow. We ordered six meals and three appetizers, but the food was downright disgusting. The first appetizer, an avocado spread, arrived frozen like it had been sitting in the fridge from the day before. We were there fairly early for dinner, only a few customers were dining. It was our first time there. We're a family of 4 with daughters in their 20s. We ordered avocado smash and cocktails to start. The dip was very good and drinks were fantastic. For dinner we all ordered different mains including bowls and steak frites. The food was delicious and portions were pretty good. All in all a great dinner and we will definitely come back.
This is a lovely old world Italian restaurant that reminds of another time. It was a snowy day and the restaurant wasn't crowded for lunch, but the food was great. The bread was fresh and delicious. The homemade minestrone was light and fragrant. The shrimp were excellent. It was my girlfriend's birthday, and our waiter, on his own initiative, brought a delicious dessert with a message in chocolate. We will come back in any case.
The food was very tasty. I recommend the Parmigiano veal. Our server was personable and helpful with the menu. Since it was NYE, I was nervous about the seats available, but my wife and I were in a cabin that was comfortable enough for two other guests. The prices were very reasonable, but the food didn't suffer. All around a great experience and a great, unpretentious neighborhood restaurant. Book a table now
Great food and service. Very friendly staff and very accommodating for our two children. We all ate until we were full and went into our pockets with two more meals worth of food. Great neighborhood restaurant and good Italian food. I would recommend the Calimari as a starter who can keep up with the best that Chicago has to offer. We will come back 10 out of 10 experiences! ????????
I haven't been back in a few years. I wanted a comfortable place to spend an evening with friends. Reminds of Via Veneto ... and it didn't disappoint! Cool, comfortable and the food was wonderful! We will come back!
Pleasantly surprised that this great restaurant was open on New Year's Day! Even more surprised that they had a zucchini spaghetti dish on special - yummy! And ... panna cotta !!! Yum!
