I have to admit I came once to terrible food, but then returned as a blogger and had some really amazing drinks plus nice food after a menu change so this is a combination of those two experiences. Both times I had really excellent service, very friendly, attentive and helpful.

We had planned on going to the pub next door but they were booked out so we ended up here and I think it was a much better place. We had the pizza and cider deal and the pizza's were done to perfection. The wedges we had as a side order were a little dissappointing, a little overcooked but overall it was a good experience. The staff were very friendly nad helpful and made sure that we were looked after.Thanks for a good night.

We have always had a good time at Universal Bar. The drinks are always well priced and the cocktails are delicious! Fridays and Saturdays there is a live band at night and there is always a great crowd on the dance floor (no matter what your ability is).It can get quite packed later on in the night so if you want to enjoy some drinks in comfort probably head there before 9pm.Well worth a look for a relaxing enjoyable night.
From 5pm-10pm Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the 12 inch pizza and beer special for $10 cannot be beat. The pizza was almost too big for one person+it was very good. They also have $15 steak dinner with a beer on Wednesday and Sunday and $15 chicken parmi dinners on Thursday and Sunday.Give the Universal a go, you will not be disappointed with the quality of the food and the prices.
For Happy Hour, this place is terrific. We've been back a number of times because they're one of the few places that does a Friday afternoon happy hour. $7 on all wines, spirits and tap beers - fantastic! Staff are friendly and the atmosphere is a bit nightclub-ish for afternoon drinks but sit out on the pavement and people watch with your cheap drinks and it's great!

Lively spot and great bands,gets very crowded and a little hot especially at weekends .friendly staff .
