I have been here many times to work for a few hours. The cafe in front of the building/downstairs is mostly for tourists and short coffee visits, so if you 're working (with a laptop) you are encouraged to sit upstairs in the 'halle '. It 's the...same company and you can take your coffee from here to there. In the halle, you do not have to consume anything, but can stay as long as you want to work. In the middle of the halle is a sandbox for children. After 9 it usually gets a bit more crowded and the noise level rises. You can read a book, enjoy a newspaper, enjoy some of the hot/cold drinks, sweets, snacks and other food from the bar. There are no verdicts here and you can come as you are and stay as long as you wish. There are free Wi-Fi, some outlets around, clean toilets, and the place generally has just a friendly feeling. I pointed this place to many friends.
You can also get a seat here for brunch on Sundays. The market hall atmosphere is cool and there is delicious food with good value for money. The coffee was particularly good. However, it is self-service. The free water dispenser was also a big plus.
The flour soup was too expensive and unfortunately didn't taste like flour soup. 2 x flour soup and 2 x onion consecration: 36 CHF. If it's good OK. But unfortunately that wasn't the case.
