Came in yesterday 7/24 The lady there was very nice seems like she was the only one working counter still remained with a good attitude and very tentative.I order two rib snack dinner and the food was disgusting the ribs were tuff and seemed like we was giving the last left in the pan hard flat bone pieces. The macaroni and cheese was by far the worst tasting I had ever had. Throw the whole restaurant away! Poor customer service, orders wrong and not worth the hassle or money. It's sad when even the Detroit Police were in there and the service was poor for them as well. The lady in front of me didn't get her pop. The man in front of her was missing wings. I waited over 20 minutes for 1/4 dark chicken, shrimp and fries only to receive white meat. Service was fine. The food looked like it was going to be delicious. The catfish was unseasoned tasted horrible. The Mac n cheese as stated in other posts overcooked and tasted like boxed Mac n cheese not from scratch. The greens were unseasoned.The ribs and shrimp were the only good thing. But now myself and husband or both sick and been throwing up and been on toilet all night. Paid 80.00 fir food poisoning.
Food smells and looks absolutely delicious. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The inside and the outside are clean. I guess the trade-off is that the service is slow. I was there for an UberEats delivery, and the order was not ready. However, the staff that took the online orders, she made sure and double-checked with me that everything was there.

Great food, very good service. Good amount of food, very tasteful, good packaging. The atmosphere is good, but because of the good food the place was crowded. When I go buy soul food I would like it cooked from scratch. The ribs and chicken were fantastic. But I was not expecting any damn Velveeta shells and cheese that were overcooked. I like real macaroni n cheese from scratch. You all should be ashame for selling box food for real soul food.
I had Uptown BBQ for Mother's Day, ribs, fried chicken wings, mac and cheese, and bake beans, and I don't have any complaints. Uptown has great customer service and good portion sizes. They have the best BBQ Sauce, which is finger licking good!!
We spent over $100 for food.. I requested extra sauce, and instead of complimentary sauce they wanted to charge … needless to say I refused to pay another penny. Henceforth Ribs fries had little to no bbq sauce on them!Food: 3 5
