I thought I was going to like this place bc off the bat, the food in the pictures look like it taste amazing. Let me start off by saying I 'm MEXICAN. And trying to find anything close to authentic in AZ. Is nearly Impossible. Even if it wasn 't authentic I expected it to still be at least have flavor or taste good. I was in the mood for something new and discovered this restaurant on Yelp. It’s located within a large business center, so it's not the easiest place to spot since there’s no big sign, but you can find it right behind the Burger King. There are plenty of parking spaces available, and ample seating options inside and outside, along with large TVs for watching games. The interior has a somewhat dark ambiance, resembling a pub or bar. The service was quick, and our server was attentive and helpful. We chose to sit at the bar, and after ordering our drinks, we noticed a strong odor reminiscent of sewage. When we mentioned it to the bartender, he casually replied that it comes and goes. Frankly, such a smell shouldn't be present in a place serving food and drinks. The owner should take a seat on the right side of the bar and experience it for themselves. It was surprising to think that this establishment could operate under those conditions. We ended up leaving after just one drink, and I truly wish we had noticed the smell before placing our order.
I recently visited this restaurant for the first time and I really liked the ambiance and design. They have a lovely patio that's perfect for outdoor seating. The food and drinks were enjoyable, though I questioned the portion sizes relative to the prices. The staff were fantastic and very friendly. Came in with a friend for some a drink at the bar. got the prickly pear margarita which was really good! service was a bit slow but the place was busy. however, i was given a class that had a huge lipstick mark which ended up being a conversation starter for the guy sitting next to us. apparently this seems to be a normal thing here. good energy from around the restaurant though, not very attentive servers on the other hand. might be back!
The atmosphere is nice, cozy and relaxed. The sauvingon blanc is delicious as well as the house margarita. We didn't order anything after the chips and dips. The beans, salsa, guacamole and queso are all almost inedible with no spice or much flavor at all. Salsa is super easy to make tasty and somehow they figured out how to make it taste like straight ground up tomatoes.
We visited Urban for dinner with a large group and had a great experience. The service was excellent, the menu offered a nice variety, and the food was very tasty. The portion sizes were generous. We tried the stuffed poblano and the Chile verde, and both dishes were impressive. The Chile verde had just the right amount of spice and heat.
I visited this restaurant for happy hour and enjoyed their chips and salsa for $3 (it was only $1 during happy hour). The server mentioned that they were meeting with management because customers are unhappy about being charged for chips at a Mexican restaurant. Overall, the food and margaritas were good!

My wife and I recently dined at Urban Agave and genuinely enjoyed the food and ambiance. Although the service was acceptable, our server could have been more attentive. I had the burrito, and it was fantastic! We each ordered a cocktail as well, and they were both quite good.
Totally unique Mexican food. Something for everyone on the menu. Great atmosphere and wonderful service. Love it.
