I ate here a couple of times with colleagues. The menu seems to have a good selection of what seemed like local dishes and a couple of international choices for the less adventurous. However, all very reasonably priced.The service was a little over efficient: our main courses arrived while we were all still eating our starters. When i got to my Kalbschnitzel (what else) it was no longer hot and was a little dry and "rubbery" for want of a better word. There was only 4 meals so they could have planned this a bit better. However, it's something i've several times elsewhere too, so maybe it's a German/Austrian thing.
Driving around Unterpremstaetten, this restaurant looked the most inviting with ample parking and easy access. we had their house platter for 2 persons that consisted of a grilled pork steak, fried chicken filet and wiener schnitzel plus fries, rice, noodles, vegetables, etc. It was enough to feed 4 persons. The prices were reasonable and the dining area was comfortable with fast service.
This was once the place to go, especially on weekends, for fried chicken. It was all very simple. In the meanwhile the restaurant and the menu have expanded and it is still highly popular. People will come all the way from Graz. The food is good and solid fare, typical for Austria and this part of the country, reasonably priced.
Since my parents have moved to Unterpremstätten I not only sleep at the hotel but we always try so eat at least once at the restaurant. Simply delicious local styrian kitchen for excellent prices. Would I recommend this restaurant? Yes -yes - and again yes!

come here for the typical styrian "backhendl" (fried chicken). over years - excellent taste, excellent value for money - 1 fried chicken is sufficient enough for up to 3 pax.
Took me a while to find this place, but it was worth it. I had tar tar and then the deep fried chicken. The tar tar was fantastic, but the chicken I could've skipped.
This place is a proper gem. An oasis of good food and food service in an otherwise barren town. Well worth going to, I can reccomend the goulash!

Variety of different meals in traditional environment with excellent service. Food is not expensive and it is good quality.
Very busy with locals. Traditional food served piping hot. We sat in the outside cover area which seemed rather noisy
