that was an experience to forget. we arrived on time to our reservation at 18:30 a.m. and were immediately used. we waited and waited until a server came by and told us that our server was occupied by the great party in the next room and she would accept our commands. at 6:45 we had our water and at 6:50 we were served salat. Thank you, we were because nobody came back to our table until about 7:25 when we were told that the kitchen was delayed because of the big party in the other room. that was also when they asked if we wanted to refill our water. we told the server that we cold freeze (I had to put on my L.L Bean-Down-Coat to stop shivering), and we (and two more pairs) were moved closer...
We have dined at Valentino's on numerous occasions in the past and have always had a good experience. However, our most recent visit was disappointing. It seemed like either it was just a bad night for the restaurant or their quality has declined. This was our first time dining on a Saturday night, and unfortunately, it seems like some restaurants struggle to handle the weekend rush. Despite the restaurant not being very busy, we were seated at a shaky table with a cracked wooden top and no table cloth. The waitress seemed inexperienced and unfamiliar with the menu, and her service was lacking. The food was also below expectations, with my flounder francaise being overly lemony and the brocc...
Once this must have been a good local neighborhood Italian place, but no more. We were seated in a large room, there was a room heater next to our table, and 1 table away a family was shivering and eating with their coats on. That's just ridiculous. The Shrimp Fra Diablo (what it's usually called) had 5 tasteless shrimp floating an oversauced plate. The sauce was hot, but tasteless. The Chicken Florentine was good, a large portion with spinach and tiny pieces of crab meat. Pasta on the side, also with a tasteless sauce. Our waitress was by turns attentive and then missing in action. Final note she apologized for the evening, the chef was out sick.

We were informed that there would be a 30-minute wait, possibly longer. This was unacceptable, so we decided to leave and go to another restaurant. It seemed like the owner was only focused on making money and didn't care about the time and value of their customers. We will never return to this restaurant again.

The local restaurant was BYOB and the veal parmigiana was underwhelming and late, but the server did not acknowledge it. My wife ordered the chicken piccata and received a Marsala chicken dish instead, but she didn't complain. The tomato bread was fine, the salad was very good, and the stuffed mushroom appetizer was decent.
The food was generally pretty good with the exception of a medium rare steak that was presented well done. Service was really pretty bad. Slow, forgot soups and salads and finally the coffee with desert. We should've known better by desert.
I've been coming here for years, and have always enjoyed their food. Very good. Prices have gone up a bit over the years, but still doesn't stop us from returning. As long as everything stays consistent as it is, we will always be back!

Great night. Nicole was excellent and really did all she could to make it a great experience. Mohamed was exceptional as well. Food was great. Six different meals and all were very good. Looking forward to our next visit.
We eat there often. Always good. Excellent prices and portions. I had one of the special. Pumpkin ravioli. Yum.
