Been going there a few times now. I absolutely love the place! The staff are so friendly! José especially has made me comfortable! Every time I sit down to look at the menu, I always struggle trying to find something new to eat. José has assisted me on his food recommendations. Their steak that I get is better than any other steakhouse that isn’t $73. Their Truffle Mac and cheese is very strong but delicious. Calamari perfect including the sauce.After experiencing a lot with the service, I’d give it a 100 out of 10. I would grab every single person I can find to dine there. It’s was truly amazing of an experience for me!
We absolutely adored Vela Kitchen! The crispy calamari was fantastic - we all thought it was the best fried calamari we've ever had. My husband and I enjoyed the perfectly cooked pan-seared branzino with cauliflower rice. Our friend ordered the lobster paella with saffron risotto and couldn't stop raving about how delicious it was. This restaurant has definitely become one of our favorites. The food was so delicious that we didn't have any leftovers to take home - we devoured everything on our plates.
My wife and I have dined at Vela on numerous occasions. Unfortunately, during our most recent visit, we were disappointed by the mediocre quality of the food. The salad was overly drenched in dressing, my wife's seafood dish was overcooked, and the gin and tonic was made with a subpar tonic, rendering it undrinkable. We are hopeful that this was just a temporary lapse in their usual high standards, as we would like to give them another chance to impress us with a great meal.
Shrimp dumplings, ricotta meatballs, codfish special dish and short ribs were excellent. A little more sauce w/short ribs would have been better. Wine choices were very good. Espresso needs work or a new machine. Not good at all. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner. Have been here several times and will return. If you were open on Sundays it would be even more convenient.

We were loyal Vintage 1891 Kitchen customers and this is our first time trying sister restaurant Vela. It did not disappoint! Familiar and delicious dishes, familiar faces, similar warm, elegant, yet friendly ambiance. Highly recommend for romantic evening, dining with friends, or really any occasion where you want a nice dinner out.
Once again, we had a fantastic dining experience at Vela Kitchen. We have been dining at Michael's restaurants for a long time and they always exceed our expectations. The food is delicious, the staff is attentive, and the owner is a seasoned professional who truly values his customers. I highly recommend dining here.
We thought the food and service were excellent. The three of us tried different apps and they were all good. My scallops and drizzled onions were only lukewarm. Not too much noise and the staff was attentive but not fawning. We look forward to going back soon. The location is perfect for an after movie dinner.
Started off with tasty specialty cocktails with which we shared cauliflower fritters in a beet aioli sauce. Our fish and chicken entrees were very good, as were our creme brulee and banana bread pudding. Definitely will go back again and will bring friends.

Vela Kitchen is great. The atmosphere is quaint and the food is always fresh with great choices. The wait staff is attentive and available but they do not rush you at all. I highly recommend this restaurant. Love the Bar seating also.
I had lamb chops and they were great. They came with delicious scalloped potatoes. Wonderful. For dessert I had Creme Brulee. Also delicious. I recommend.
