I love the ambiance of this place! It's a busy cafe bustling with clients. Be forewarned that you might have to wait for a table but there is turnover and everything seems to work out.4 of us went for lunch at 12:15 and got there to face a full restaurant. We lined up to order our food while one of us kept scouting for a table. Luckily enough two tables came available just as our food was ready.We have the Squash soup - the large is a generous serving. The smaller size would have been plenty! My husband had half a Panini sandwich. It was served with a cherry aoli - yummy. Again, half a panini was a generous serving.Our only disappointment is that they had run out of Focaccia bread and served...
We really enjoyed the shady patio on a sunny Saturday afternoon, sipping tea and watching the colorful parade of humanity passing by, then we moved to the benches lining the outside wall to get some sun. Or you can sit inside if you prefer, so there are a lot of seating options for such a small place. I had the apple oatmeal muffin, which was delicious: not too heavy, not too sweet. The food looked good, so will drop in for lunch next time. Close to the LRT and buses, plus there's parking on the street.
I really do love Vendome. The food is amazing and the atmosphere is great. I love how much natural light comes into the place, it really brings a lot of energy to the cozy little cafe. The food, coffee and desserts are amazing. I always get the duck confit panini. Deep, rich flavours and a perfectly toasted panini. Only reason it gets a 4/5 for me is the price. The sandwich in itself is quite small, and with a coffee it adds up to over $15 (plus a $0.95 for a coffee refill)
The atmosphere is cosy, the food is fabulous.First you locate a table and place something to indicate possession. Then you proceed to the cash, order from a great menu and with a number stand in hand you sit at your table to enjoy your drink. When the food appears it is like mana from heaven. We went back three days in a row and would still be there if not for a booked return flight. This place is a destination worth the effort. Natalie has a winner here.

Vendom cafe was one of the first places I went for coffee when I moved to Calgary . They stole my heart with their amazing pastries and breakfast ! Their eggs benny are just to die for and freshly made scones just melt in your mouth . They use amazing coffee beans and they Americano taste the best ! It is nice and smooth no after taste and no acidity . If you are on Sunnyside for sure you have to go !
I recently found out about this place from their instagram account and thought to give it a try. I have been there three times now. And boy their Classic Egg's Benedict is worth dying for !!! Other than that I loved their stuffed pasta shells and Death by chocolate cake. Keep up the good work guys !!!
Waited 25 minutes for a cup of cappuccino, no feed back form the staff, when finally I got my coffee the only think they did is to bring a to-go cup. Apparently I was taking the spot for too long... Well it's going to be Starbucks nearby next time. To be objective, the coffee was good.
Duck Panini and Salmon Egg Benedict are amazing. I'm sure there are other fabulous options too but we only get these. It is a small place and it was pretty busy but on a lazy Sunday morning totally worth it!

Unique little resto with terrific food for brunch, lunch...not sure about dinner. Located in a nicely renovated historic building, it's tucked into a centrally located neighbourhood. Great place!
