We stopped at Venta Marcelino during our drive from Olvera to Setenil last week. The appearance of the restaurant is humble and belies the high quality of the food served. The dishes we ordered were original and fresh made from vegetables grown on the property. Everything was carefully prepared and presented, better than many if not most of the high end restaurants I 've wasted money on. Traditional Spanish fare is on the menu along with original items. The service was quick and friendly, with the owner obviously caring about what he does and explaining how the dishes had been prepared. This place proved you can 't judge a book by the cover because the food was so much better than the looks...
Lugar con bastante encanto, perfecto para hacer una parada técnica si quieres comer y no te apetece meterte en un pueblo a buscar un bar o restaurante. A pesar del calor del medio día, en su terraza se está muy bien, el servicio es muy agradable y se disfruta la tranquilidad con una buena cerveza, vino o refresco. Nos llamó especialmente la atención la dorada a la plancha acompañada con una salsa que hacen allí. Sin lugar a dudas, el sitio perfecto para ese almuerzo de medio día y tomar un descanso en mitad de tu ruta.
It is hard not to stop in here after the walk from Olvera to Los Remedios or Torre Alháquime. While we have only had bevvies, the service is certainly nothing to write home about... And very likely the worst we have experienced in Olvera. What a shame! It is such a prime destination point!

One of the best restaurants in Olvera. Very high quality and always a great selection of food and wines. We love going there with friends for sunday lunch.
Buen sitio para hacer una parada y tomarse algo o comer, la cerveza super fría, y enfrente el santuario de la virgen de los remedios, muy bonito!
