I love the food because it's fresh, and the service is quick and friendly. I'm dropping one star because the spice level of the food is really inconsistent. I always order pad thai. 50% of the time, the spice level seems to be what most Thai restaurants would rate as a medium spice, so that is what I have come to expect when I order it. But the other 50% of the time, it either has no spice at all (and tastes very bland) or it is way too spicy that my mouth feels like it's on fire. I know everyone has their own personal level of spice that they find enjoyable, but I wish the spice level could just be consistent here.
Vera Asian will always have a special place in my heart! I learned so much and was extremely happy that this was the first place I went to in high school. I asked if the restaurant could really do gluten free do to my daughter having Celiac. I explained the need for all gluten free ingredients, coming utensils and surfaces. They assured us they could. She had Pad Thai and wasn't done eating before she started feeling sick. Long story short, throwing up and other gastro issues for days to follow... Her meal was not gluten free.
