I have been here before and the food is good, and the waitresses are quite stern, but pleasant and helpful. I don't know if it's because my friends and I are English, but the owner was just so rude, I'm still in shock.For a start my starter came out; foie gras with confite of onion, with toast. The toast came out uncooked so when I tried to spread my foie gras it fell apart, secondly there was no confite of onion, so I sent it back, like anyone would. No apology, but that I can handle that, the waitress didn't speak very good English and I'm in France so why should she.....the thing that promoted me to give this rating, was the owner walked past our table knocked out wine bucket over looked...
I’m very surprised to see some negative TripAdvisor reviews of the service here as we’ve always found everyone to be very friendly. Samir Cassia and his family have been running this and the nearby, slightly more informal Café Bleu for years and in my opinion they know what their customers want and how to provide it.The food is tasty and good value, with pleasant views of the Med across the marina. I reckon it’s probably the best all-round restaurant (taking into account food, value, service, location) among those by the Port Camille Rayon marina in Golfe Juan. We use this restaurant quite a lot as it is near our mooring, so we have been there for morning coffee, lunch, (usually moules et frites which are very good), evening meals and Sunday lunch. It is very busy with many local customers, as well as boat owners. The quay is quite atmospheric, especially on Friday evenings when the place bounces with jazz and other music. We have always found the staff of the via cassia very accommodating, and apart from one glitch, the food is very good. Book in the evening for tables nearest the boats. The marmite des pecheurs was big and very tasty. The owner offers traditional fare as well as food with Far East influences.
The restaurant is nicely presented, clean and offers a good variety of food. The food itself is excellent - loved the rabbit - all dishes arrived promptly and hot. The staff, however arrived cold, sullen and provided service with a scowl - a bit like old fashioned dinner ladies. We are quite hardy and made the best of it as we had the place to ourselves and would not be rushed etc. We even ordered in French in an attempt to get the staff to warm a little. But no, they remained at -20C. Spend your money elsewhere if you value service, and don't want your dinner spoiling by staff who think the customers are an inconvenience.

My companion and I were taken here by friends who have a holiday apartment near by and eat here regularly. Our main dishes ranged from fish, salad Nicoise, steak and salmon. My friend's steak was underdone so he sent it back and it was returned more cooked within 5 minutes. I was the only one to have desert of two boules of ice cream which was very smooth and delicious. The location is nice away from the traffic and located on the marina. We could here the jazz evening from their sister restaurant that added to the atmosphere.
I chose Via Cassia to meet with friends for lunch today. I saw mixed reports on TA about the greeting and service. Today we were met with lots of smiles and a very nice welcome, although we all spoke French, our waitress spoke really good English. We were not rushed at all, even though we were the last in the restaurant. The food was of a good standard, wouldn't say fabulous - but price v quality was about right. The atmosphere/decor very warm which was pleasing on a wet day. Would go back again.
Our visit was just dreadful. Food disgusting. 3 of us had the same meal and it was totally inedible. Waitress said is all ok, but not really interested. We said no. Eventually manager came and he just shrugged is shoulders and said they had served many of this dish that day and no one else had complained. This is a general french thing. Eventually he offered us something else and we said no thanks. He did reduce the bill a bit but I would never go back. We are locals too.
We keep coming back to this restaurant every summer so they must do something right. The location and decoration is great and generic ambiance good. The food has never disappointed. However the service is usual French, not very friendly. The smallest steaks may be a bit too small but burgers are good and pizzas too

We had an enjoyable meal on a Friday evening in January, good choice from the menu, we went for the fixed price: oysters/foie gras; then both of us had the steak frites; then cheese/ice cream. Good portions. Ambience fine, cheerful red & white colours.
