Viet Quan - Table reservation

I had a Wonton Soup for starter. It was alright but then there's little you can do to mess up a Wonton Soup, let's be honest. Then I had a fried rice, one of the recommendations of the restaurant. If a genuine Vietnamese -or any-...restaurant recommends a dish you'd expect the ingredients and cooking style to be genuine. They weren't. To my knowledge broccoli as we know does not grow in Vietnam, nor does German white cabbage. There's an excellent Chinese food store behind the corner, so it's not a big deal to get genuine Eastern ingredients to prepare your food. The glass of red Merlot tasted somewhat mouldy. We visited Viet Quan just before Christmas on the recommendation of a local. We eat a fair bit of Vietnamese food back in our native Australia, and this restaurant excelled in what it provided. The menu was only in German and the staff struggled with...English, however we were familiar with the dishes and kicked back to enjoy pho, summer rolls and salads. The food was authentic to its type, fresh and tasty. Very reasonable prices, friendly staff and comfortable. Worth supporting with your custom, being a short walk from the centre of Bremen.

Simply delicious. The sauces (that we ordered) tasted fresh and self made, due to use of regional vegetables a whole new experience was achieved. With that price point, truly satisfactory.

Soup was good. Waitress was clearly tired, and couldn't wait till I was gone. And cash only in is really conservative?!
