So when I arrived I was greeted by a friendly staff member who took me to my seat I was then asked about allergies then ran through the menu. I was then informed about what they had that evening and what they didn’t due to lack of delivery’s. i was then greeted by a server who asked me again if I had any allergies and I got my drink then I ordered food, Drink: Sake sho chiku bai. Tama squid balls Yaka soba chicken and prawn. Miso and caramel ice cream. So for my starter/ side came after my main it was nice and I did enjoy it but I expected it to be deep fried in a batter rather than in a panko breadcrumbs as it just soaked up all the oil My main Yaka soba chicken and prawn was lovely the sob...
We were excited to try the Wagamama restaurant in Edinburgh, as we own their cookbook. However, we were disappointed and would recommend going to a traditional Japanese or Korean restaurant instead. My partner ordered the vegan udon, which was extremely spicy, and I got the Korean Beef Ramen, which was awful. The noodles were overcooked and soggy, almost to the point of being unpleasantly slimy. It's surprising that a restaurant featuring Asian cuisine would serve food like this. The service was also poor - we had to ask multiple times for more water and didn't receive it until we were already leaving. The staff, mostly young, seemed uninterested in providing good service. I met a friend for lunch at this restaurant for the first time and was delighted to find that they offered all the types of food I love. Service was quick, the food arrived promptly, and they took my allergy seriously by checking the dishes I wanted to order to ensure they were safe for me to eat. The food was delicious and very flavorful. The only difficult part was choosing from the menu because everything looked so appetizing! I will definitely have to come back to try more dishes. The restaurant's location is fantastic, right in the city center surrounded by wine bars, pubs, and a variety of price options for drinks. I highly recommend this restaurant.
I'm sorry, but I don't get the hype about this place! The food is absolutely fine, but the service is lacklustre. Very much feels like a conveyer belt system, amd not a personal service. If you want fast and healthy go, but there are loads of better independant Asian restaurants in the area.

I like Wagamama. I remember my first visit in Soho over 20 years ago. Lovely friendly servers (special thanks to Jennifer) but my grilled chicken ramen…. salty lukewarm broth. I might have needed kidney dialysis, had I not left most of the broth and its unnecessary salt load.
Always come to Wagamama in Lothian Road every time we visit Edinburgh as anything you chose on the menu is SO good. We are hopeless at using chopsticks but trying is such fun and they do have forks too if youre stuck. Wish they would open a place in Inverness! Please! SO GOOD
So disappointed with our visit to this Wagamama it really was awful. We had eaten there in the past and really enjoyed it. The squid starter was so overcooked that it resembled cardboard and was inedible. The other dishes were terrible also. Such a shame.
As we often do when we find a place we really like, we went here twice in Edinburgh. Each time the food was well prepared and tasted wonderful. One night we were close to the time they closed, and they still welcomed us in. Highly recommend.

Wagamama is consistently dependable. Sometimes there is a bit of a wait to place your order, but once you do, the food usually comes out quickly. We wish they offered a loyalty program for how often we visit!
