We ordered the Kalua pig, which was quite salty but packed with flavor. The rice was alright. We opted out of the macaroni salad, so I can't speak to that. We did get the dish with cabbage, but the menu made it a bit tricky to order. I wish there were more vegetable options to pair with the meat and rice. Overall, the atmosphere felt very authentic. The food quality was great for the price. If it had been 20 degrees warmer and there were chickens roaming around, I would have felt like I was back in Kauai.
I have had Loco Moco in Hawaii and I prefer my eggs scrambled. This place is the best. If you ask for scrambled eggs they make them like an omelet. The barbecue steak is good. I like the short ribs but they are a bit bony for me. The barbecue chicken is excellent. Chicken katsu is also good . I have never seen anyone get french fries. My go to place at least 2x a month and I pass some places in Berkeley to go to El Cerrito. Good value for the money.
The Hawaiian-style barbecue here is absolutely delicious! The Kalua pig is particularly impressive. The macaroni salad is also excellent, and even the rice is cooked to perfection (you can really gauge a restaurant's quality by its side dishes). I also tried the BBQ chicken, fried fish, and shrimp. While all the dishes were tasty, the shrimp and fish don't quite match the flavor of the BBQ. I'm definitely coming back again and again!
I found this place on Google maps but i saw more pictures and information on yelp. It is a spot you must try if you love Hawaiian bbq or havnt had it before. I will be back when im back in this area. This dish I got was the mini kalua pork with extra mac. (The mini only comes with 1 scoop of rice and mac)

The customer service was terrible. The older man at the counter was rude and had no respect for the customers. He has a very short temper. It's unfortunate, but I will be going to L&L in Pinole from now on. Food rating: 3/5.
Love their spam musubi, their combo dishes ingenious they have a new noodle dishes on their menu not very often go there, but I went only on the other day just because I missed the spam musubi. Look at her
Amazing food! This is a fantastic spot to enjoy Hawaiian cuisine on the mainland. The Loco Moco was delicious, and the Mac Salad was equally impressive!
