Waldhaus am See - Table reservation

We stayed at this hotel for two nights in a room with balcony and lake view. The hotel was very convenient, short walk from the train station and they provide free shuttle if you carry many suitcases. The room was clean and the lake view (both the room and the dining hall) was amazing. We were able to do a bit of jogging around the lake before/after our sightseeing in the morning/afternoon and that was absolutely delightful. Breakfast was alright but they tend to reserve nicer window tables for “some” guests but not all (which we had no idea how it worked). We arrived on the first morning and one of the ladies in the dining hall was very particular on which table we had to sit but kept talki...

Had lunch with family in this restaurant with amazing views of the lake. The service was excellent and waiter attentive. There was an extensive menu, and it was hard to decide what to eat. I had the Sauerbraten which was excellent. The servings were large and reasonably priced. Next time I visit Essen I would return to this restaurant but with cash in hand. PLEASE BE AWARE that they DO NOT take Visa, Master Card or Amax. I was going to pay but as they did not take any of these cards my cousin stepped in and paid. Not sure what would have happened if she was not able to help. This is the first time I have been to a large established restaurant where they do not take these type of cards.

Die Speisen waren von besonderer Qualität und auch der Aufbau des Buffets und der organisatorische Ablauf bei mehr als 50 Personen war einwandfrei.

Delicious food with absolutely great service! Very kid friendly and willing to make anything happen to keep you happy. Highly recommended
