We went to the Walston Castle for Sunday lunch 15/10/2023. we were met by Matt shown our table and introduced to our server Faith. After having our drinks order taken we were given menu`s. our drinks arrived and Faith inquired as to whether we had any dietary or food allergies. Also a first for us once we ordered the Sunday lamb roast we were asked how we would like the lamb cooked, either pink or well done, we settled on pink. Our server was lovely. Young blond girl. Food was ok, however I wished I just turned around when I saw the beer garden. The beer garden had leftover plates with leftover food from the night before with cigarette ends. We arrived just before mid-day. When we were sat down inside, the place clearly hadn't been cleaned properly. The floor was covered with crumbs and bits of food. Crumbs on our chair. Even the glass in the doors as you enter and exit were filthy. My husband even said it's absolutely stinking in here! Six of us reserved a table for breakfast today, but unfortunately, it was a terrible experience. We were rushed throughout our meal, constantly having to ask for basic items like fruit juices, plates, and cereal bowls. Many items on the continental breakfast buffet were missing and not restocked. The cooked food that did come out was missing items on most plates. Despite our reservation for 10:15, we were told the kitchen would be closing at 10:30, but it closed even earlier. We were not given the option to reorder any food. Overall, we wasted £66 on a breakfast that was poorly serviced and of very low quality.
Had the ribs and chicken combo and it was great, with the extra chicken wings. Sticky toffee pudding for desert. Others had the sirloin steak and we're very happy with it. Sevice a little slow at times as it was so busy, probably due to a period of 40% discount off main meals, which is the main reason we went there on this occassion

Went for a breakfast. Was nicely cooked and the continental spread was ample and varied. Would be nice to serve orange juice rather than a premixed tropical option. Plenty of seating and staff around to ask and assist consistently. I would go back for more for certain.
The decor was tired, chair seat fabric was badly stained, window blinds covered in thick dust. General effect was dingy and unappealing. Could do with an urgent re_vamp. Two staff members worked hard in difficult conditions.
The restaurant has incredible staff and delicious food. Convenient location with ample parking. Review updated on April 24th. The staff remains exceptional and the food provides great value.
Nice food ere service was a little slow especially buy the 2 guys at front of house
