I hadn't been here in several years came here a few times while kayaking the Charles. My husband and I were looking for some impromptu lunch, aware that it being Mothers Day that might be a little challenging. I'm really glad we were in the area and came to Waterford's! They were wrapping up the buffet but were really cool about letting us have a look at that and if we wanted something else they would ask the kitchen if we could order off the menu. We happened to visit on a night with live music, which featured a woman singing along to music from an iPad. She was good, but the volume was just overwhelming. It was so loud that our server couldn't hear us and we struggled to hear each other, even when we were just a foot apart. Unfortunately, my salmon was undercooked in the middle and my sister's haddock was served cold. It was difficult to communicate with our server about these issues, especially since he had already made a mistake with my sister’s order. To be honest, we just wanted to leave at that point. Only had buffalo chicken wings, was there more for drinks. Sat at the bar. The male bartender was annoyed with us from the get-go. Pretty sure he rolled his eyes when we tried to get his attention so we could order another drink. There was a female bartender that might have been a manager(? , she was very nice. Told us about the live music and almost seemed like she was trying to compensate for her male coworker. Wings were okay, kinda burnt and not a ton of meat on them. Anyway we only stayed for the wings and two drinks and decided to go somewhere else to watch the game.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS: I would give it zero stars if I could. This restaurant is a complete disaster. I spoke to two or three different managers about getting a refund for my terrible meal and service, but they just kept passing me around, telling me to call various numbers or that someone would get back to me. No one has called, even after I was promised a full refund for my awful experience. I refuse to remove this review until I receive the refund I was promised.
We decided to try Waterford's to celebrate our anniversary. I hadn't been there since it first opened after the Old Irish Ale House closed. We were pleasantly surprised! The food and service are excellent. I ordered the grilled shrimp with yummy rice. My husband had the shepherd's pie. Both were delicious. They have a sangria that is so good. The atmosphere is warm and cozy. If you can get a table by the river, even better. Highly recommended!
Excellent service and perfect Baked Haddock dinner. Very responsive bar staff! They used to have Harp on tap but Sam Adams Lager was a top notch alternative. Highly recommend stopping in to enjoy the ambiance and views of the Charles River from the main bar!!! 5 Stars
I paid market price for fish and chips but received what seemed like frozen fish. This restaurant feels more like a spot for regulars; they seem to prioritize their regular customers over newcomers.

I visit here about 10-12 times a year. A nightcap, catch a game and dinner at the bar, a retirement or farewell get together. Always a good visit. Good food, good staff, good atmosphere and crowd.
Food and drinks were great. We got the scrod and the salmon, sat at the bar. Service was great. Very comfortable atmosphere. We hope to go back for the live music on Friday night.
