We had a look at the menu out the front then decided we would like to eat here...we were ignored and overlooked numerous times when we waited at the front to be served. When we were approached, i asked the lady if there were any tables as we didn't have a booking...she said she would check...she never got back to us and walked passed us a number of times afterwards...just as we were about to leave we were approached by a waiter who said there were no available tables at this time but we could wait at the bar which we were happy to do. 5 mins later we were seated. Was really disappointed that this restaurant was only open for breakfast. We stayed at the Cairns Plaza Hotel for 4 nights and would certainly have eaten there for dinner and drinks, but sadly they didn't open.Breakfast was fine, but the poor girl waiting on the tables, was run off her feet. She was a pleasant lass, but certainly needed an extra pair of hands or two. The view over the pool and harbour was nice, but not put to enough use. Reading some of the reviews, it seems that this restaurant has been a bit of a hit and miss.
Waterside Restaurant is a in the Cairns Plaza Hotel where I stayed recently. They only do breakfast and it was your average buffet fare. Eggs, bacon, sausages, baked beans, mushrooms, etc. You can also have continental breakfast if you like.

I stopped here for lunch after a Sunday morning walk. A lovely setting and the steak I had was cooked exactly as requested. Good friendly staff with prompt service.
We went here for a few drinks before dinner. Great spot with comfy lounges, or sit at the bar. It is at the end of the pier/marina and is a great little find.
they were very busy when I went in to grab breakfast and we only had a few minutes before our boat left. They were quick and got our food in no time thank you
This place is accross the road from Bagus Cafe. The fish is superb. The burgers are awesome. Staff are very friendly and it is a family friendly place.

Good food, not really special but OK. Nice staf. Beautiful view over the harbor. We spend a pleasant evening here.
We had a couple of drinks and listened to live music in this upbeat, hip place. Loved it. I can recoomend it.
