Wazen has been on the radar since we saw it when visiting the excellent fish and chip place behind Went for a late lunch and were very impressed with the service and food The tuna carpaccio was beautifully fresh with a good dressing, the agedashi tofu had the right level of crunch and the the teriyaki chicken salad was a generous serve A chilled glass of white & a Kirin beer rounded off a most enjoyable lunch
Really delicious fresh Japanese food, lovely service. Very basic wine list, next time we'll take our own bottle, decor is average but the atmosphere is warm and friendly, the food is lovely, both times we've just walked in no booking and they've accommodated us with no problem, service is quick, found our new go to restaurant I think.
I was not sure what to expect as my only experience with Japanese food was teppanyaki & sushi. Was I wrong. I had the teriyaki chicken (main plate) served with tempura vegetables & steamed rice. The food was excellent, fresh with large servings.The restaurant serves Japanese beer on tap. Staff were very friendly & efficient.
There is a little cluster of shops hidden in West Burleigh just near David Fleays where you can find some great food. Wazen serve great Japanese food with friendly prompt service at very reasonable prices. Definitely worth a visit and while there check out the other places and plan your next visit. Book a table now
My wife & I tried this restaurant after a tip from a friend, it did not disappoint. The food, ambience & service was impeccable, I would highly recommend. This was a first for me, completing every dish using chopsticks, I usually throw in the towel & ask for a knife & fork.
First time here. The Japanese food was excellent. Wonderfully fresh and great variety. Staff were very welcoming. I great find and will definately return. Prices are reasonable for such good quality.licenced and byo wine
