We visited on a Sunday late morning today, hopeful for brunch. We were initially disappointed that the menu stated only sandwiches were available from 11.30. Then at 12pm other offerings including jacket potatoes were on the menu. Being hungry and not yet fancying lunch, we noticed a couple of sweet options at the counter (there weren’t mentioned on the menu). I opted for a scone with cream and jam and my husband went for Victoria sponge. I have to say that both were incredibly disappointing. They were the driest edible offerings either of us have ever eaten. It was incredibly disappointing when the venue is so picturesque and the service was speedy. It may have been we were unlucky and Satu...

We were going to take a picnic to the museum but decided it might be a chore toting it round as the car park is a bit of a walk away from the site. Lunchtime found us at the Cafe and happy with our choice. The menu was devoid of all the usual suspects but wasn't pretentious in it's offerings. We observed the freshly cooked meals being served and decided on a prawn and avocado salad bowl and a (Hot) quiche and salad with coleslaw. Both were good size portions and clearly made from fresh, good quality ingredients. The setting by the lake made it all the more enjoyable. Very good value for money.

We popped in for coffee and cake, the poor review reflects the utterly terrible coffee, when you pay over 3.50 for a small mug I expect it to at least be good, my Latte was nothing but froth, it wasn’t even half full, and tasted pretty bad too, my friend had a Americano which although was nearly a full cup tasted like cheap instant , maybe I should had complained at the time , but I’m not one to make a fuss, whoever runs this place , please sort it out, I’m fed up with paying over inflated prices for ****

I asked for the cheese and chutney sandwich with gluten-free bread, my friend had hers on granary seeded bloomer. When they both arrived, mine looked very un-appetising in comparison and the bread was borderline stale. There are lots of amazing and delicious Gluten-free seeded and wholemeal breads available now so come on you can do better than that! Book a table now

What a lovely place. The restaurant is very reasonably priced and the staff are lovely. They are all a very friendly team and an absolute pleasure to chat with. If only other places could match the customer service they provide the country would be a much better place. The visit really made our day. Well done and thank you.

Staff are very rude . Asked for a takeaway sandwich and woman wasn't happy with the fact I wanted a takeaway she wasn't very friendly and looked down on me .
