We have been dining at Weathervane for many years. I will say that my most recent experience was not up to par although I am certainly willing to give the restauarant another try at some point. We drive in from Raleigh to dine there and we expect more than we received this past visit. We feel that the staff was the biggest difference this time around. The hostess was unfriendly and ignored a question I asked her. Our waitress was very nice but did not serve us well. I attribute that completely to her other tables upstairs while we were seated downstairs. It would have been a lot for any server to handle. with reservations. rude person said I don't know where the she's bringing people. threatening menus on a waiter and said to put them somewhere. a rough edge at a place that was a little classic. they were better treated with applebees. served ice in the bowl that would serve a side of the cole Slav. don't go back.
Great restaurant overall! I would definitely go back! Easy, took reservations! Pimento cheese appetizer was great! Food was good, a little cool. But overall perfect for out big group! No doubt we'll go back. Karen was our waitress and, like other reviewers have written, she was lovely! Attentive and energetic!
My mother and I met with her oncologist and after a lengthy appointment we had a quiet meal and discussed treatment options. It was a very pleasant experience considering the heaviness of the earlier hours. The service was wonderful and the food arrived quickly.
