That is an interesting concept used in villages around Vienna Heuriger is a winery where there is mostly sold own produced wines. Since the supposed purpose of ones visit there is to drink wine the food is left somehow behind. The waiters only bring drinks...to the table. If the patrons want to eat they have to use a kind of self service where one may choose from among various starters[salads,etc] and a few main courses from the local cuisine. Although they have inside tables , the real attraction of a warm night are the tables spread on a multi levels terrace What is memorable is the atmosphere , the joyous talk about this and that A long standing edict dating from the imperial past forces...
