We went here on the recommendation of friends who are regulars (despite a 20 minute drive from where they live). I can see why they come here. The restaurant itself is very pleasant and the owners gave us a friendly welcome. We ordered the pork steak with pesto and aoli and the pike-perch. The former came with fried potatoes (or chips), the latter with rice. Everything had a side salad included. The salad was the only slightly disappointing part - nothing really wrong with it, but standard fare - the rest was very good indeed. The pork, in particular, was of excellent quality. We had some local wine with our meal and thoroughly enjoyed the evening.

Hosts Erich & Gaby clearly want all of their guests to have a great meal and an enjoyable time. Weinhaus Shuster strikes me as a 'real' local family restaurant -- it was packed with families the night we ate. This is the real Germany. The interior is classic small-town Germany, as is the food and service. We had creme of chestnut soup & Rinderbackchen; and Leberknodelnsuppe & paprikarahmschnitseI. We then shared an Apfelcrumble dessert. Our Robert Konig Spatbugender (€25) was the best German red wine I had during the trip (but although I drink plenty of wine, I am no expert). It was a great meal.

My local Kiedrich/Rheingau friends took me to this restaurant for dinner. Excellent food and a very nice atmosphere in a typical 'Rheingau Gaststube'. Their local wines were also excellent and are very reasonably priced. We had a great time there eating and drinking !

Interesting fare that one wouldn't typically find at the average restaurant. Quaint ambiance and pleasantly cozy inside. A little pricy, but worth it. Would gladly recommend it.
