We were there a weekday lunch and still place was full so needed to share a long table, so worth...reserving a table. My sister, wife and myself chose this restaurant for dinner on a Sunday evening. We hadn't made a reservation and were fortunate to get a table as the place seems pretty popular and most tables were taken. The ambience decor is rather similar to...a traditional Paris bistro and very pleasant. The waitresses were friendly and helpful as our German was limited. The food was nicely presented and very tasty. We had a glass of wine each as well as 1 starter and 3 main courses. The cost, though not cheap, I felt was reasonable for the quality of food and service.
Read the reviews on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. Arrived 2pm as read reviews that the place is busy during lunch hours. There was only a waitress around when I was there... she is friendly attentive. Food arrived a...reasonable timeframe and not as bad as what was being described in some reviews (being there during off peak hours might be the reason). I ordered their signature grilled trout and love it! I will go back again when I m Tübingen next.

Very good traditional restaurant in the historical downtown of Tubingen. The location is very characteristic, historical and pittoresque. Very good food, I ordered smoked filet of troute and loup de mer (seabass), both excellent. My colleagues ordered meat and were very satisfied as well. Good...choice of wines. Waiters are very kind, competent and professional. If you happen to be in Tubingen, go to this restaurant.
in dobingen people like to go to forello restaurante to eat dead fish from the teasing river and drunk with swabian vino. I have seen how the natives dance on the tables and roar dead fish in their hands. fun family activities when they visit.
Excellent food, definitely above average! The historical interior is very nice as well (as long as you stay downstairs a bit boring/uninspired decor upstairs). Service is impeccable. I highly recommend this place.
my friend had fishy maul bags and I had the wobble pink roast, which was excellent. the service was extremely efficient, although a Swabian characteristic did not smile? who knows, but it didn't really distract.
