I really enjoy the bread at Wheatfield's, but I wouldn't consider the café to be very vegan-friendly. For breakfast, your choices are limited to dry toast, hash browns, fruit, a vegan ginger cookie, and Soymilk for espresso drinks. We were disappointed to find out that the peanut butter and jelly sandwich is not available until lunchtime, which seemed unnecessary. As for lunch, the only vegan options are a salad or a sandwich with animal products omitted. The sandwich toppings and seasonings heavily feature dairy, even on the Tempeh sandwich. They do offer a designated vegan sandwich, but it does not include peanut butter.

I visited this restaurant expecting a great Cuban sandwich based on all the positive reviews, but I was disappointed. While the meat and toppings were delicious, the bread was a letdown. It had been pressed for too long, making it taste like a dry cracker. Additionally, paying over $9 for a small, half sandwich was not worth it. I will not be returning to this establishment and cannot recommend it to others. I have had better Cuban sandwiches elsewhere for a more reasonable price. Very disappointed with this experience.

This charming bakery offers excellent quality artisan breads and baked goods. The breakfast and lunch options are sure to please even the most selective diners. It's definitely worth taking a one-block detour off of Mass Street to visit. The patio is a great spot to enjoy your meal or coffee in the shade. The staff is attentive, the place is clean, and the bathrooms are great. The biscuits and gravy are always a delicious way to start the day.

If you are for lunch, the vegan options can look slim, but their home salad is hand-down my favorite vegan lunch in downtown. It is quite filling out as it comes with a few salads on the top and two slices of bread. I recommend poppy clothing when you eat honey, but the balsamic is also excellent.
