Called in for Sunday lunch the restaurant was very quiet. We ordered the roast beef dinner which took a while to arrive. The meals were not hot indeed the only hot item was the gravy boat. The roast potatoes were hard and overcooked, cauliflower leek and Stilton tasteless, the meat was sliced thinly and we did not enjoy it at all. None of the servers approached us to enquire if everything was okay, this is common practice and always expected by customers, even when we went to pay at the bar the question was not forthcoming. Be aware that a service charge of 7.5% is added to your bill at the point of sale, we understand that this may be common practice in some places but no where did we see o...

I was extremely disappointed with my recent experience at The Wheatsheaf Inn in Onnerley, which I booked through Red Letter Days for a break for two. The room we were given, The Bridgemere, was in a terrible state. The lighting was poor, the bathroom was moldy and the shower cubicle was unacceptable. The flush handle on the toilet had been replaced with a bolt, making it uncomfortable to use. The shelf over the sink was dirty and there was dust and peeling wallpaper throughout the room. Despite my complaints, the hotel could not move us to a better room and only offered a partial refund of £15. I will not be staying at The Wheatsheaf Inn or using Red Letter Days in the future.

We visited the Wheatsheaf after having it recommended to us, we have recently moved into the area and are trying out different restaurants each month. My husband had Chicken Leek and Tarragon pie and said it was excellent however I had the Tofu with roasted vegetables and crispy noodles. I had not expected the noodles to be so dry and as such the meal only became ok to eat with some of my husbands gravy!!! Good selection of cheeses and my Salt and Pepper Squid was excellent. The service was ok however we were not asked how our meal was by any server. One member of the team was very nice but we only met her at the end of the meal.

My partner and I had our wedding at this restaurant on May 6th. Alethea and her team went above and beyond for us. We wanted a relaxed and informal celebration with our close family and friends, and they made it absolutely perfect. Alethea was there from the start to help me through any bridezilla moments I had, and she truly took the stress out of the day. Everyone raved about the delicious food - we had a 3-course meal and it was fantastic. This restaurant is the perfect venue for a small wedding. Book a table now

I rarely ever write reviews but I have had such an easy to organise experience with this pub, I just had to. My parents celebrated their wedding anniversary today and as I live abroad, I find gifting tricky. I discovered they were going here for a meal, sent the pub an email and they organised a gift voucher. They even printed and put it on the table as a surprise for when they arrived. Fantastic customer service!

Needed a simple overnight stop and found this great pub on Trip Advisor what a great find. Good, clean, spacious bedroom, excellent dinner (with huge portions) and excellent beer. Excellent service by Carl at the bar and the friendly and helpful staff at check in and restaurant. All for very reasonable price. Highly recommended!

Just a simple family, 2 grandparents, 2 parents and 3 kids having Sunday Lunch for no special reason. Everything went as it should. The food was good. The service was really good with the kids. The venue was very good. we all had a good time and thus are likely to return.

I had a fantastic tapas-style meal at this restaurant. The gyozas were excellent and the chilli beef was delicious. I will definitely be returning. It was great to sit outside on a lovely summer evening. Book a table now
