We have recently moved to the Whitechapel area and have been on the look-out for a good Sunday roast place. My family visited for the weekend so I had everything crossed that this was going to be the one (I'm a bit of a roast...connoisseur and travel far and wide on the hunt for the best). The food was outstanding, it really was. I would give it an 8.5/10 the gravey was insane, huge portions and great quality meat, cooked well. The vegan option was great, too although a little unimaginative (why is it always a mushroom wellington There could have been more veg overall but otherwise we were all really really pleased. The beer was great! Very fresh and crisp, and a great selection to choose fr...

Sunday to find the personal had changed (apart from the cook) the staff was slow and gave the impression that they had never worked behind a bar. eating menus on the bar we were told were not correct when we went to order and. that was about 45 minutes after the opening hours. at first no apron for the pig and no meerrettich for the bark. the clientel seemed to have deteriorated, dogs allowed, in, bark and shake. it was like eating in the middle of battersea dogs home. the most table fought to us to eat the roast without steak knives. we constantly saw that eating returned. our huh was pink. this was a nice east end pub, where you could get a good Sunday roast. I'm afraid it went like so man...

Had an amazing lunch today, it was the first one of the season , had 3 courses Was totally stuffed afterwards . Ham terrine was perfect Turkey was so tender and moist, Roast potatoes were the best ever, Xmas pudding had a berry compote on...top of custard was yummy. Well worth a visit, remember if you want to book for the Xmas lunch/dinner you have to pre order. Enjoy

Came in here for some lunch and was pleasantly surprised to see that they were still doing breakfast. Had a lovely veggie fry up which came with a ton of fried haloumi, which is not something you get on most. Food was delicious. Nice atmosphere,...friendly staff. Really good selection of beer as well. Book a table now

Travelled here to visit the Blind Beggar but it was closed. Called in here for a pint and wasn't disappointed, great boozer, friendly atmosphere and helpful, friendly bar staff. Served by a young Polish girl and she was great really chatty and knew her job....If I lived here I would be a regular.
