I was very disappointed with my dining experience at The White Horse. I went with eight family members and our meals were not up to par. Three of us ordered the scampi and all of them were overcooked to the point of being inedible. The sizzling chicken, which four of us ordered, was decent but lacked the promised onions and mushrooms. The fish and chips, ordered by the final two members of our group, were the best option. The bill came to approximately £240, and when my friend added a £20 tip, the waitress did not even acknowledge it. Overall, based on our personal experience, I would not recommend The White Horse to others.
If you're looking for a fantastic lunch spot, this is the place to be. My partner and I have dietary restrictions, including gluten-free needs, and the staff and chef were incredibly understanding and eager to accommodate us. Not only that, but the food was mouthwatering and the service was top-notch. There's a convenient parking lot in the back, but street parking is also available, although I'm not sure if there are any time restrictions. Thank you White Horse, you always exceed our expectations.
We had a delightful family meal at this restaurant. We didn't have a reservation as it was a weekday, but it was quite busy and we were lucky to snag a table. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The service was great, and the food was cooked perfectly and there was plenty of it. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place.
Called in for lunch, fish and beef burger with chunky chips. Food was fantastic and well priced. The goats cheese was delicious! Very attentive and well-mannered staff. Lovely relaxed atmosphere with fire burning. Will definitely return and recommend. Note: might be advisable to ring and book even for lunch as it was busy enough today (Tuesday).

Fabulous chowder to start husbands main course equally as good unfortunately my scampi was mainly just lumps of really greasy batter with a side salad that had gone brown, waiting staff really apologetic attentive but message from the kitchen was that it was perfectly fine. Disappointing as always like to stop here have recommended it to others
My two brothers and I had meals on two different days within a week and on both occasions the food, drinks, service and ambience was superb. We have visited the town nearly every year for the past number of years and have always found the WHI a great restaurant. We thoroughly recommend it
We have visited this establishment many times over the years on our trips over from England to see friends. It never disappoints and if anything the food and service gets better each time we come. We wish we had somewhere like this on our doorstep .I cannot recommend it highly enough.
