The young table staff were lovely but the kitchen seriously let this establishment down on this occasion. The belly pork that my friend ordered was undercooked and extremely fatty. The crispy crackling was clearly added from a packet. It went back to the kitchen but returned in a similar state. My salmon was overcooked and not particularly fresh. I then tried the fruit crumble and custard which was bland and straight out of the microwave. Not crumbly but doughy. When asked how the food was I answered honestly. The young waitress recommended the brownie instead as I had hardly touched the “crumble” but then had to come back and apologise as the “chef” had refused to provide one! I had come to...
The food here is well priced, huge portions and really high quality. A gluten free savoury tart with the most incredible pastry; lovely roast and an amazing steak and kidney pudding. Really generous portions of vegetables and massive sides. The staff are plentiful and really attentive, working hard to make you feel welcome and very looked after from the moment you walk in. We discovered this place by accident, and think it’s really unique. It’s also in beautiful countryside for walking/ hiking before or after.
We had a delightful lunch at the White Rock. The food was excellent (beef Guinness pie and a steak sandwich with chips) and the atmosphere was very festive. The staff (Harry and two girls whose names we didn't catch) were extremely welcoming and attentive, they even brought water to our table for our dog! I would definitely recommend this place.
This pub is lovely with friendly staff. When we walked in, the barman Harry greeted us warmly. We sat down and our drinks were brought over. We also enjoyed some delicious cheesy chips that were hot and generously portioned. I would definitely recommend this friendly and welcoming pub. Thanks Harry, you're a great guy!
