This pub is historically interesting but also gets everything else right too. Good food and a good selection of quality ales. It was a Wednesday evening and medium busy. We ate at a quieter end of the bar but could still enjoy the atmosphere. Initially a bit concerned about the piped music which I don’t generally like, (could maybe have been a bit quieter? , but it turned out to be a nicely eclectic mix and didn’t actually overpower conversation. Particularly friendly and efficient waiters and bar staff. Will definitely return when next in Leeds. Thanks.
I had a fantastic meal at this restaurant with always fresh Guinness. The Sunday roast I had was incredible and offered great value for the price. The staff were friendly and it had a special atmosphere as a traditional ale house.
Classic pub in the City Centre. Excellent range of cask and keg beers with breweries like Kirkstall and Five Points featuring heavily. Decent prices for the City Centre and the staff are friendly too.
I visited here with my two cousins on a Thursday lunch. The place was chocka but we didn't have a long wait for a table. The food was lovely and the atmosphere was nice too.

Great traditional pub, with all the original fittings you would expect from a building of its age, good selection of draught beers and leaders.
The service was excellent, with friendly, helpful, and efficient staff. The food was also delicious.
Excellent overall selection of drinks on Leeds' oldest pub, from another era. Never disappoints.
Less of the music, which was really Ok , but squawking customers made it very difficult to hear.
