I finally visited Whitworth Chippy today when working in the area. My friends recommended this chippy to me a while back. As someone who has once worked in a chippy I have a high expectation. I’m pleased to say that this expectation was met. The chips were perfectly cooked. The batter on the lovely fresh fish was light crispy. I ordered a carton of gravy (yes I know.. who puts gravy on fish? but will try the Irish curry next time, which a customer recommended to me. Thank Whitworth Chippy for restoring my faith taste buds. I will be back!
We called here to visit relations in Whitworth area from Harden village West Yorks, Really fast food it,s not, but well worth the wait, everything is cooked while you wait, and is superb, The portions are just right, and I have a good appetite ! . Lovely fish fried to order big succulent fish covered in crispy batter rather than a small bit of fish encased in an inch of greasy coating. Fish, chips and peas only beaten by the famous Magpie Cafe . Speedy and friendly service.
Easily the best chippy in the area. Good quality fish (always cooked fresh) chips and mushy peas. Haggis and pies are also good. Friendly staff. Highly recommended
