The location in the waterfront industrial Park is great, with very comfortable indoor and outdoor seating also it’s clean. The gentleman who took my order was not friendly at all, and I didn’t get acknowledged while he was reading his phone standing at the register in front of me for a solid minute. Scrambled eggs were good, but… the “very crispy bacon” I requested twice was greasy, thin and limp. Potatoes were tasteless and the rye toast may have very lightly broiled on one side but it was soggy. Oh, and all of this with a small coffee for $17. Next time I’ll go to Jim’s or bring my own breakfast and get a cuppa Joe here.
Why Cook catered my birthday party for 50 people on a Sunday afternoon. The food was so much better than a typical restaurant! They provided great variety for a table spread that I didn't expect. No quickie dishes. These were like home cooking Mediteranian style. I won't hesitate to use them again. We also go down to the Alameda location for lunches. The outdoor setting is very pleasant and relaxing. Good work, Why Cook!
I hired Why Cook? to cater an event for 75 guests, anticipating good food, and they truly surpassed my expectations. I selected BBQ chicken and pork, and wow—the dishes were not only beautifully presented but also absolutely delicious. I highly recommend considering them for your event planning.
We didn't have a lot of food options by our hotel so we were pleasantly surprised to find this place. The food was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed the cleanliness and ambiance. The patio area is nice.

Almost $10 for a grilled cheese sandwich that was 2 slices of the smallest bread (not even toasted) you can find in the supermarket filled with 2 slices of cheap not even melted cheese. Never again.
Great place for fresh foods, including Middle Eastern, USA and Mexican choices plus a salad bar. Open clean room. Casual. Outside tables too. Great place to wait for Oakland Airport, 6 minute drive
I ordered the teriyaki chicken burrito, and it was overwhelmingly salty—completely inedible. I wouldn’t recommend spending your money here.
