My husband went gluten free about 10 days before we came across this little gem. Needed to stop for a bite to eat, his first restaurant experience since going GF. We saw this place and as we were walking up to its front door then noticed it was a GF establishment. Now that is fate! The food was delicious, the servings very generous and the baked good amazing. My son couldn't believe that GF tasted so good. The bun we had with our soup was the best GF bun we have come across. Definitely making this a regular stop on our was down island from now on. Well done!

This bistro, located on Ladysmith's high street, one block off the Trans Canada Hwy., is both gluten and peanut free. Besides fabulous soups, salads and sandwiches and luncheon quiches, they offer a good selection of baked goods. I never pass Ladysmith without popping in to see if any of their wonderful french loaves are left for sale. My husband, who is not celiac or wheat sensitive, says it is one of the best breads he has eaten.

Wild Poppy Bistro is gluten free and peanut free. The food is excellent. My server was attentive and very considerate. I stopped for lunch after a long and tiring hike and she not only brought me a carafe of water, she also filled my water bottle. I had the beet salad and cream of cauliflower soup. The salad was outstanding and the soup was quite good.

Stopped in for lunch and had a delicious pulled pork and cheese melt on delicious gluten free bread. The bread was moist and not crumbly at all. Salad was delicious and fresh. They had a few tasty looking options for baked goods and I plan to visit again to try them. Everything in the restaurant was gluten free!
