This restaurant was not to my liking. The bar and tavern side was filled with loud and rowdy customers on a quiet day. The menu consisted of small plates with small portions, making it poor value for the price. The waitress mistakenly told me that the green peppers in my mussel soup were mild, which ended up being spicy and causing me discomfort. They replaced it with asparagus, their only vegetable option. The service was lacking, as my water glass went unnoticed until I requested a refill. The seating options were backless benches in the bar area, but an uncomfortable chair could be requested. Flavor of food was between ok and good, nothing special. I had higher expectations after seeing reviews. I ordered a pasta dish with sausage. I appreciate the pasta, sauce and sausage all being homemade, but I was disappointed when the dish arrived with 3 small bites of sausage. I ordered a cocktail that arrived weak and mostly ice in the equivalent of a juice glass. When the waitress observed I drank it in a few sips, I asked for another, but without ice. What I got was an 8oz glass of milk with a shot of Kahlua in it. Not a way to impress. I just wanted a good drink.
4 plates divided. Scallops cooked perfectly, sauce not very aromatic, chased the small amount of peas around the plate. Beet platter was good. Tuna poke had strings of supposedly kelp salad, fries were sparse and not wasabi powder. If more chips were requested, the answer was "not sure but will be checked". Return with 4 chips. It seemed pretty strange that the smoked bluefish and avocado toast was served with bluefish on one toast and avocado on the other.
I like the atmosphere. Very loud on a Saturday evening. The portions were small. I had the cod. It was delicious, but small. After dinner we sat outside by the fireplace. Very cozy and relaxing.

It was wonderful! Great service, friendly atmosphere in a semi formal space, and incredibly tasty (and creative but not otherworldly) food!
Service and food was fantastic (smaller size portions - but delicious). We sat outside and it was perfect for connecting with friends.

This restaurant's atmosphere deserves 5 stars all on its own. Brunching here is an absolutely delightful experience.
