Second time here. On a Monday night, many of the Sursee restaurants were closed; this one was full. I have some restaurant German so we could understand about 80% of the menu no English spoken here; the ambience is homely rather than slick. Had...asparagus which was grossly overcooked welcome to Switzerland but tasty nonetheless as it's hard to ruin asparagus. Calf liver was pronounced perfect by my wife and my med rare fillet was cooked perfectly. The black pepper sauce was a tangy wine reduction rather than the bland creaminess I had feared, so all was good. Both dishes were accompanied with perfectly cooked rosti. we only knew we would like to eat something in sursee, but not where we could. the fall swallowed us in the "wild man" - and for that we were very grateful to him. Although the approximately 600-year-old house was well occupied at midday, we were assigned a twosome by the very friendly service. that we were watching our dog was not a problem. we enjoyed butterclayed calf livers with rösti and vegetables as well as a cordon bleu, from which the spicy cheese like raclette floss. in the kitchen is placed much worth on handwork. Foreway...one of the few good restaurants open on a Monday. with luck and without reservation get a place, which is already hot. wide good bourgeois kitchen, creatiw presented and cooked with very much love. very nice service. fish from Lake Sempach is offered freshly. price / performance is absolutely right. as mentioned at the beginning....a reservation is worth it.
Great meal here with business friends and work colleagues. Excellent and attentive service, good quality food and was a busy popular place. Was here on a Tuesday night and was nice experience. Happy to come again on next visit to Sursee. Glad to have found this place while walking Sursee streets in search of a dinner place.

You can find this type of restaurant in every town across Switzerland. The food is good, but not great, and the interior is old-style, warm, and wooden (which I happen to like). They serve all the Swiss classics, and make them just fine. Make reservations,...especially on a weekend, or you may find they're full.
