Admittedly we arrived at 1pm on a sunny Friday, however, we were not told of a long wait for food. There was no bitter on pump, only bottles. I ordered a sandwich and waited an hour before I chased it up. When it arrived, the side salad was drenched in water, soaking the brown bread. This charming historic pub with a restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. The food is delicious and reasonably priced with generous portions. My wife and I dine here often and have never been let down. They also host events and have a spacious garden, some of which is covered. The pub has themed nights and live performances that are worth checking out. Located next to the Thames and Tilbury Fort, it's definitely worth a visit.

We decided to visit this restaurant mainly because of its iconic name, which was made famous by a movie. My two teenage boys are big fans of the movie, so we wanted to check it out. After a chilly visit to the Fort in Suffolk, we were looking to warm up with some food. We were pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant and the delicious dishes it offered.

All closed up, looks like it's another pub gone. Went for little stroll with friends along the waterfront and decided on making pub our lunchtime stopover, as we have before. No signage outside for menu, or the usual sky tv/ football banners, and all the chairs stacked up inside. Shame possibly another landmark going.
